The function of the idler is to support the weight of the conveyor belt and materials. The operation of the idler must be flexible and reliable. Reducing the friction between the conveyor belt and the idler plays a crucial role in extending the lifespan of the belt, which accounts for over 25% of the total cost of the conveyor. Although the idler is a relatively small component in belt conveyors with a simple structure, manufacturing high-quality idlers is not an easy task.

The criteria for judging the quality of idlers are as follows: radial runout of the idler; flexibility of the idler; axial play of the idler.

Usage Notes

1. Before using the roller, carefully inspect the appearance for any serious scratches or damage. The rotating roller should rotate flexibly without any jamming.

2. The installation distance of the rollers should be scientifically calculated based on the type of logistics and the characteristics of the conveyor, to avoid installation that is too loose or too dense.

3. The installation of rollers should be adapted to avoid mutual friction and collision.

Maintenance

1. The normal service life of the roller is over 20000 hours and generally does not require maintenance. However, according to the usage location and the size of the load, corresponding maintenance dates should be set, and timely cleaning and oil injection maintenance should be carried out, as well as timely cleaning of floating coal, etc. Replace the rollers with abnormal noise and non rotation in a timely manner.

2.When replacing the bearing, the opening of the bearing cage must be outward. After the bearing is installed into the roller, it should maintain appropriate clearance and not be crushed.

3. Maze seals should be made of original accessories and should be installed separately into the rollers during assembly, and should not be assembled together.

4. When using the idler, precautions should be taken to prevent heavy objects from hitting the idler tube.

5. To ensure the sealing performance and usability of the rollers, it is prohibited to disassemble the rollers at will.
