Product Maintenance
- The hydraulic coupling operates in the same manner as the motor. It can rotate in either direction, but it is not suitable for rapid and frequent reversing.
- After installation, during the first power-on test run, check whether the coupling operates smoothly, without vibration, and without abnormal noise.
- To ensure safe production, a mesh-shaped heat dissipation protective cover should be installed on the coupling.
- When the prime mover reaches the rated speed, it must start to operate; otherwise, check for jamming in the load. Stop the machine immediately for inspection to identify the cause.
- During operation or shutdown, there must be no leakage from the coupling.
- During continuous operation, the working oil temperature should not exceed 90°C; 70°C is preferable.
- After the first 300 hours of operation, drain and replace the working oil. After 3,000 hours, inspect oil quality; replace with new oil if deteriorated.
- Regularly check the wear condition of the elastic blocks. If damaged within a short period, it is mostly caused by incorrect installation and alignment — realign and use a dial indicator if necessary.
- The fusible plug must not be blocked or replaced with items lacking overheating protection. When it melts, find the cause, reinject oil at the specified volume, replace with same-specification plug, and retighten all bolts on the coupling circumference.
- Regularly check the installation accuracy of the prime mover shaft and input shaft. Do not randomly disassemble the coupling to avoid damaging the seal and balance. If disassembled, mark the joints of each component.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q
What is the maximum allowable working oil temperature for the YOX hydraulic coupling during continuous operation?
During continuous operation, the working oil temperature of the YOX hydraulic coupling should not exceed 90°C. A temperature of 70°C or below is preferable to ensure optimal performance and longevity of the coupling.
Q
How often should the working oil be replaced in the YOX Load Limiting hydraulic coupling?
After the first 300 hours of operation, the working oil should be drained and replaced with new oil. After every 3,000 hours of operation, the oil quality should be inspected, and new oil should be used if deterioration is detected.
Q
What should I do if the fusible plug melts on the hydraulic coupling?
When the fusible plug melts, you must first identify and eliminate the cause of the oil spraying. Then reinject the working oil at the specified filling volume, replace the fusible plug with one of the same specification or pour in low-melting-point alloy, and retighten all bolts on the coupling circumference.
Q
Can the YOX hydraulic coupling be used for frequent reversing applications?
While the hydraulic coupling can rotate in either direction just like a motor, it is not suitable for rapid and frequent reversing. Such operating conditions may cause damage to the coupling and reduce its service life.
Q
Why do elastic blocks wear out quickly in a hydraulic coupling?
If elastic blocks are damaged within a short period of time, it is most commonly caused by incorrect installation and shaft misalignment. It is recommended to realign the shafts carefully, and if necessary, use a dial indicator to achieve precise alignment.
Q
What are the key benefits of using a YOX Load Limiting hydraulic coupling?
The YOX Load Limiting hydraulic coupling offers multiple advantages, including startup shock reduction, torsional vibration isolation, overload protection, power saving, slow startup with load delay, multi-machine drive coordination, and an extended service life for both the motor and working machine — all with a simple, reliable structure requiring no special maintenance.
